Donovan Bailey was born on 16th December of 1967, in Manchester of Jamaica. He moved to Canada in 1981 and competes with the colours of the North American country since then. He was the World Record holder for Men's 100 m., with 9" 84. , a record he achieved at the final of the Olympic Games of Atlanta, on the 27th of July 1996 until the 16th June of 1999 when Maurice Greene ran the distance at 9" 79. in Athens. His personal best at the 60 m. (Indoors) is 6" 51. (1997). His winning 150 m. race against Michael Johnson, the 200 m. WR holder in Toronto (June '97) was the highest paying ever for a T&F athlete. Bailey won 1,5 million $ for running and winning that race. Not bad for an athlete that broke 11" first time when he was 23...
