Maurice Greene was born the 23rd of July of 1974 in Kansas City. He is 1, 76 m. tall and weighs 75 kgs. His nickname is "The Kansas Cannonball" or "The Phenomenon" due to his fantastic times at the sprint events. He holds both the 60 m. (indoor) and the 100 m. World Records. He managed to break Donovan Bailey's previous 100 m. WR by 0.05 of a second in Athens, on June 16th 1999. He trains with John Smith t the HSI team, together with his friend Ato Boldon who is currently also his biggest rival.

Personal Bests: 60 m. Indoors: 6" 39. (WR, 1998), 100 m.: 9" 79. (WR, 1999), 200 m.: 19" 86. (1997).
